The LifeScript

Overview

The LifeScript enables users to write their personal books using AI assistance, multilingual prompts, and voice-to-text transcription. I developed every major frontend feature over a span of one year, including the dynamic book editor, multilingual onboarding, Stripe-powered subscription flow, responsive dashboard, and PDF-based book compilation.

Alongside the frontend, I also built the entire backend system that powers The LifeScript — including authentication, AI orchestration pipelines, Deepgram voice transcription, Stripe payments and gifting, real-time WebSocket updates, media handling via S3, and CMS-based content from Strapi. Together, these layers form a complete full-stack ecosystem that connects creative writing with intelligent automation.

My Role (Frontend)

• Developed complete UI/UX with Next.js 14 and Material UI components.
• Implemented react-i18next for full multilingual support (English, Spanish, Bulgarian) with dynamic routing.
• Integrated Deepgram API for real-time voice-to-text recording within the text editor.
• Built RichText Editor (react-draft-wysiwyg) with auto-save, grammar checking, and chapter autosync.
• Designed and developed AI-assisted editing interface with autosave, text alignment, and chapter compilation flows.
• Developed Stripe-based subscription & gifting flows with custom registration and verification logic.
• Implemented OAuth (Google/Facebook) login for frictionless registration and syncing with backend auth.
• Added book cover builder with SVG layers, dynamic color themes, cropping, and PDF export.
• Integrated Redux Toolkit for state handling (book, user, cover, and editor states).
• Used React Query (useQuery/useMutation) for admin dashboard CRUD and performance optimizations.
• Ensured seamless communication via WebSocket for live progress and status updates.
• Optimized for SEO with metadata injection, language-based canonical routes, and WordPress integration.
• Deployed complete frontend on AWS EC2, integrated with S3-hosted assets and backend APIs.

My Role (Backend)

• Architected and developed the backend using Node.js (Express/Nest-style modular structure).
• Designed domain models for users, books, chapters, payments, assets, and milestones.
• Implemented REST and WebSocket APIs for chapter creation, AI pipelines, and live updates.
• Integrated OpenAI API for narrative generation, chapter polishing, and content formatting.
• Connected Deepgram for converting voice interviews into structured, editable transcripts.
• Developed Stripe payment flows (checkout, gifting, refunds) with webhook reconciliation.
• Integrated Meta WhatsApp webhooks for real-time messaging and user Q&A automation.
• Implemented secure OAuth (Google/Facebook) alongside email/password authentication.
• Automated transactional emails and story updates using NodeMailer.
• Built an internal job queue system for AI processing and media transformations.
• Deployed backend on AWS EC2 with S3 storage, logs, metrics, and environment configs.
• Used Strapi CMS for editorial content, blogs, and SEO-friendly public pages.
• Implemented strict security & privacy standards: JWT rotation, rate limiting, GDPR compliance.

User Flow & Payments

• Multi-step subscription flow with tabs and verification screens.
• Stripe Elements for payment forms (subscriptions, gifting, renewals).
• OAuth login with Google/Facebook integrated in registration sequence.

Localization & SEO

• Full i18n routing (English, Spanish, Bulgarian).
• WordPress-powered landing pages integrated via subdomain linking.
• Dynamic meta titles, canonical tags, and Open Graph optimization.

Performance & Reliability

• Lazy-loaded components with dynamic imports (Editor, Modals, etc.).
• Optimized Redux slices and API caching via React Query.
• Responsive design across all breakpoints (mobile → desktop).
